Vendredi, au programme de cette 3e \u00e9tape du Tour d’Algarve, les coureurs vont s’\u00e9lancer de Villa Real de Santo Antonio pour un parcours accident\u00e9 ponctu\u00e9 de 192,2 kilom\u00e8tres. Compte tenu du profil de ce trac\u00e9, les sprinteurs sont les favoris de l’\u00e9tape du jour du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Tavira. Et Gerben Thijssen (Intermarch\u00e9 – Wanty) en est m\u00eame le grandissime favori.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une \u00e9tape accident\u00e9e favorable aux sprinteurs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Au regard du profil du parcours de cette \u00e9tape de vendredi, il est \u00e9vident que plus les kilom\u00e8tres vont d\u00e9filer et moins la difficult\u00e9 va se faire sentir. Effectivement, les 40 derniers kilom\u00e8tres de cette 3e \u00e9tape Portugaise sont favorablement plats ce qui en fait un terrain de jeu id\u00e9al pour les sprinteurs et leurs \u00e9quipes. Bien que le d\u00e9but du trac\u00e9 soit une succession de mont\u00e9es et de descentes, aucune mont\u00e9e ne mettra en difficult\u00e9 les favoris du jour. Pour preuve, les deux seules difficult\u00e9s r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es du jour sont loin d’\u00eatre effrayantes m\u00eame pour les sp\u00e9cialistes de la derni\u00e8re droite puisque la mont\u00e9e d’Alcaria affiche un profil de 2,3km \u00e0 6,9%<\/strong> (Km 103) et la c\u00f4te de Faz Fato (4,7km) seulement 3,3% de pente moyenne<\/strong>. Ces deux ascensions ne vont faire que freiner le peloton. Et afin d’animer le final de l’\u00e9tape les organisateurs ont plac\u00e9 un sprint bonus \u00e0 24 kilom\u00e8tres de l’arriv\u00e9e<\/strong>. Apr\u00e8s quoi les \u00e9quipes de sprinteurs ne vont plus \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9brancher\u00a0\u00bb jusqu’aux 150 derniers m\u00e8tres ou chaque leader effectuera son sprint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les favoris de la 3e \u00e9tape du Tour d’Algarve 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Au regard de ce que Gerben Thijssen<\/strong> (Intermarch\u00e9 – Wanty) a produit sur la 1\u00e8re \u00e9tape, force est de reconna\u00eetre qu’il fait figure de grandissime favori au d\u00e9part de ce troisi\u00e8me jour de course. Aussi, il a toute la confiance de son \u00e9quipe. Ainsi, le belge a tout pour r\u00e9it\u00e9rer ce vendredi. Il faudra cependant se m\u00e9fier \u00e9galement du N\u00e9erlandais Marijn Van dern Berg<\/strong> (EF Education – EasyPost) qui flirte litt\u00e9ralement avec la victoire depuis ce d\u00e9but de saison 2024 (4 Top 10 en 5 courses). Jordi Meeus<\/strong> (BORA – hansgrohe) lui aussi est en mesure de l’emporter et ses r\u00e9sultats r\u00e9cents t\u00e9moignent en sa faveur. Pourquoi pas Wout Van Aert<\/strong> (Team Visma Lease a Bike) vainqueur \u00e0 Tavira, bien que ce dernier a largement confi\u00e9 qu’il \u00e9tait au Portugal pour continuer de s’entra\u00eener en vue d’objectifs plus lointains et en aucun car d’obtenir cette semaine le moindre bon classement. Quant \u00e0 Arnaud D\u00e9mare<\/strong> (Ark\u00e9a – B&B Hotels) ce sera l’\u00e9nigme pour ses supporters Fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
