Le Tour de Suisse 2026 vit son avant-dernière journée ce samedi. La 4e étape est un contre-la-montre individuel de 23,7 km autour d’Aarburg, un parcours entièrement plat qui permettra aux spécialistes de s’exprimer pleinement.

Contrairement à la plupart des contre-la-montre actuels, il n’y a aucune montée à affronter pendant l’effort. Le tracé n’est pas non plus excessivement technique, même si quelques virages offriront aux coureurs techniquement solides l’occasion de gagner du temps.

Un seul pointage intermédiaire est prévu au kilomètre 10. Les derniers kilomètres sont plats, droits et conçus pour une vitesse soutenue. Les purs rouleurs devraient briller.

Tadej Pogacar, dernier à s’élancer à 17h02 avec le maillot jaune sur les épaules, est le grand favori. Le Slovène, déjà vainqueur de la 1ère étape et leader du général avec 2’50 d’avance, peut asseoir définitivement sa domination avant l’étape reine de dimanche. C’est un véritable test pour le champion du monde en vue du Tour de France où il tentera de remporter un cinquième sacre.

Pogacar, Vacek, McNulty : le trio de tête

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) est le grand favori. Le Slovène, qui a déjà remporté plusieurs contre-la-montre dans sa carrière, possède la puissance et l’aérodynamisme pour briller sur ce parcours. Il s’élancera en dernier, à 17h02, avec l’avantage de connaître les temps de ses rivaux.

Mathias Vacek (Lidl-Trek) est son principal rival. Le Tchèque, qui a brillé lors des premières étapes, possède une position aéro très efficace et une puissance qui pourrait faire la différence sur un parcours aussi plat. Il s’élancera à 16h59.

Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates XRG) est l’autre carte de l’équipe émiratie. L’Américain, spécialiste de l’exercice, pourrait créer la surprise et devancer son leader. Il partira juste avant les favoris.

Alec Segaert (Bahrain Victorious), spécialiste du contre-la-montre, s’élancera plus tôt (15h39) et pourrait profiter de conditions météo potentiellement plus favorables. Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-BORA), 15e au général à 5’26, voudra se tester avant le Tour de France.
