Par rapport à la veille, la grosse explication entre UAE, Jumbo et Quickstep commence plus tôt et donne à une bataille fort spectaculaire… Comme en Ardèche, les Quickstep envoient de nouveau sur l’avant Vansevenant qui, la veille, n’avait pas pu résister au duo Mac Nulty- Kuss… Vansevenant, alliance de style cahotique et de farouche détermination, ne peut faire mieux cette fois-ci face à Ayuso et Vingegaard, le grand espoir espagnol couvé en UAE et le second du dernier tour de France, et ce duo de luxe et de rechange le décramponne…
Le temps, pour Alaphilippe et les siens, de se rendre compte de la défaillance du jeune belge, et cela donne lieu à une fin de course aussi échevelée qu’indécise, marquée par cette poursuite à faible écart entre le duo Ayuso-Vingegaard à l’avant et le trio Alaphilippe-Cosnefroy-Martin en chasse derrière eux…
La victoire ne tint donc qu’à un fil, Martin et Cosnefroy prenant place sur le podium; par leurs forces personnelles ou leur habileté tactique, les deux français ont bien manoeuvré face aux grosses armadas…
Ils marchent bien nos Français avec une mention spéciale pour Guillaume MARTIN qui aligne deux bons résultats en deux jours..!
