Pour 80 centièmes, il a devancé le champion de France de la discipline, Rémi Cavagna (Deceuninck – Quick Step). Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) a déjà frappé un premier coup sur la Course au Soleil en prenant la 3e place. Il devance ainsi tous ses adversaires au général.
