La photo d’introduction résume bien ce début de Tour dominé par les UAE de Pogacar suivis par les Jumbo du premier opposant Vingegaard, avec également Roglic, malgré la perte de temps du slovène suite à sa chute; Roglic court désormais un peu plus en retrait; ici, il se trouve derrière Kruijswijk. On aperçoit Gaudu et Bardet, les deux français bien placés au général, ainsi qu’E. Mas pour Movistar… Les Inéos, par contre, n’apparaissent pas sur l’image, malgré quatre coureurs dans le top 10 au départ de l’étape… L’un d’eux a disparu du classement, D. P. Martinez, défaillant aujourd’hui, peut-être malade, avec ce Covid qui hante les esprits… Martinez se retrouve maintenant 30é…
