Depuis sa victoire à Vallter 2000, Adam Yates (INEOS-Grenadiers) n’a plus lâché la tête du classement général du Tour de Catalogne. Et ce n’est pas seulement le Britannique qui a remporté l’épreuve par étapes WorldTour, mais toute une équipe puisque ses coéquipiers Richie Porte et Geraint Thomas ont pris places à ses côtés sur le podium. Trois coureurs INEOS aux trois premières places. Ainsi, Adam Yates succède au palmarès à Miguel Angel Lopez.
