Ce samedi, ce sont les favoris du Tour d’Algarve qui vont s’affronter sur un contre-la-montre individuel d’une distance de 22 kilomètres à Albufeira. Avec un profil de 322 mètres de dénivelé positif, et un tracé fait pour les spécialistes du chrono et de l’effort en solitaire, le grandissime favori du jour est le champion du monde de la discipline, Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick Step) à moins que Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers), Wout Van Aert (Team Visma Lease au Bike) ou d’autres coureurs viennent lui contester la promise victoire. Dani Martinez (BORA – hansgrohe) va s’élancer vêtu du maillot jaune de leader du classement général.

Un tracé fait pour les spécialistes du chrono
Les 22 kilomètres du parcours de ce chrono vont s’effectuer sur une grande boucle avec départ et arrivée à Albufeira. Si l’itinéraire n’est pas complètement plat, il va cependant avantager tous les coureurs puissants et de ce fait les spécialistes de l’effort en solitaire. A deux reprises, aux kilomètres 7 et 17 il y aura des points de chronométrage. Le vent, présent sur l’épreuve depuis ce début de semaine, pourrait très bien venir accentuer la difficulté de l’étape du jour et créer des écarts conséquents à l’arrivée.

Les favoris de la 4e étape du Tour d’Algarve 2024
Le grandissime favori du jour est ni plus ni moins que le prodige Belge Remco Evenpoel. Le coureur de l’équipe Soudal – Quick Step est attendu en vainqueur à Albufeira pour et par la majorité des observateurs. Cependant, les noms de Filippo Ganna, ex double champion du monde de la discipline, Wout Van Aert qui tout compte fait va jouer la victoire au Portugal contrairement à ce qu’il avait annoncé, ou encore Stefan Bissegger (EF Education – EasyPost) sont aussi cités parmi les favoris. Il ne faudra pas non plus négliger la participation de Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) dont le palmarès regorge de victoires en chrono. Et ce ne sont pas les seuls participants à peut-être pouvoir contester la victoire à Evenepoel.
