Au départ du chrono, D.F.Martinez étant un très bon spécialiste, sa victoire finale était envisageable. Le résultat de P. Ganna également; observons que Ganna, qui a progressé en montagne, a perdu un peu de sa force sur le chrono, ce qui est plutôt rassurant…
Victoire des Inéos, avec même un doublé… Ganna perd finalement le général pour deux secondes, battu par Martinez, sans doute leader au départ, mais aussi battu par sa propre équipe… Car il reste ces images des deux arrivées au sommet de ce Tour d’Algarve : sur la première, les Inéos font toute la montée à un train d’enfer, avec Ganna qui s’accroche en fin de groupe tout au long, puis décroche et perd 7 secondes en haut… Et sur la seconde arrivée, c’est Pidcock qui attaque au pied et contribue à reléguer Ganna… Cette tactique Inéos qui pourrait paraitre absurde ne l’était cependant pas du tout, car sans ces deux ascensions infernales, S. Kung, supérieur à Ganna en chrono, aurait sans doute gagné le classement général !…
