Mardi, avait lieu la 2e édition de la Mercan’Tour Classic, épreuve 1.1 UCI qui s’achevait au col de Valberg après 167,9 kilomètres de course. Et une fois les 5 coureurs échappés rattrapés sous l’impulsion des Israel-Premier Tech de Chris Froome, ce sont 15 coureurs qui se sont retrouvés en tête de course à 45 kilomètres de l’arrivée. Dès lors ce sont les Groupama-FDJ qui ont pris la course en main et ces mêmes coureurs se sont présentés ensemble au pied de l’ascension finale et la victoire est revenue à Jakob Fuglsang, qui l’a emporté en solitaire. Le Danois succède ainsi au Français Guillaume Martin.
